Luke Russert vs. Charlie Rangel

Posted on 23 July 2010 by Jerry

NBC’s Luke Russert, son of the late Tim Russert, NBC Washington Bureau Chief, challenged Charlie Rangel regarding ethics violations. Rangel clearly upset about Russert’s repeated questions of whether he was afraid to lose his job and then being schooled by young Russert in how he could responded angerly. Rangel said, “You’re young, I guess you do need to make a name for yourself, but basically you know it’s a dumb question…it doesn’t really sound like NBC asking these dumb questions, but it just shows what has really happened to a channel that did have some respect.”

Since when is asking questions and demanding answers for the New York citizens that pay your salary disrespectful? Rangel’s response is exactly the issue that disgusts those of us who are tired of politics as usual.

The real question is, is Russert’s report a sign of NBC turning a corner in political news reporting. Will NBC actually begin holding politicians accountable? One would hope.

Bork Elena Kagan!

Posted on 27 June 2010 by Baco

Bork Elena Kagan! Bork Elena Kagan! Why? The thinking of the Supremes has been limited to that of Harvard. Can we do better? I think so, but if we don’t make this point obvious then we will never know.

I’m not mad at Kagan for anything specific. I’m just mad at the Obama Administration for not listening and therefore I say “Bork Kagan.” Obama will eventually get his selection, but let’s rough them up a bit? Let’s ask questions about military recruiting, “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” and especially abortion. I’m not mad at Kagan, but she does lack experience and she could get rattled. Maybe she will say something to get “Borked?”

In short, Elena Kagan will probably soar through the Senate. I actually wanted a Black justice and I don’t classify Justice Thomas as one. Women have made great strides under President Obama, but when will a Black male rise? Name one qualified Black and I’ll crawl back under my rock and shut up until the next time. It makes me wonder if Obama has the courage to nominate a Black male. Bork Kagan and we could see if he has the stones.

The Tea Party-”I Get It!”

Posted on 19 May 2010 by Baco

President Obama and President Bush have followed almost the same exact failed policy and America doesn’t get it. We are divided by the emotions of race, class, gender and fear to the point that we are all too selfish to care about the future or our neighbors. We are being manipulated and the public trust is being robbed blind. We are angry and politically lost because we don’t “Get it.”

The Tea Party understands the problem is “The Rich” versus “The Poor.” The Harvard elite is robbing us blind, bailing out banks, giving Wall Street access to Social Security to gamble, and Harvard is stacking the Supreme Court. Under the “False Flag” known as “Progressives,” Obama Democrats have abandoned the poor and joined forces with moderate Converatives in an attempt to create a ruling class. The political game is rigged by the money! Rich political pirates are robbing us blind. The Tea Party is just a bunch of “Poor Fools” who think money doesn’t matter in voting. Money matters and anger won’t change the “Golden Rule.” He who has the money wins.

I get it. I know main stream America isn’t passionate about politics and or corrupt politicians until either they get caught with their pants down or they are caught “Red-handed.” America is a trusting nation. We generally seek to share peace and prosperity wherever we may. The problem is Rich thieves ruling this nation don’t give a damn about what main stream America thinks or wants. Peace and prosperity shared be damned if the Harvard elite can rule and profit. Sadly, it’s all about the Benjamins going into elite pockets so they can stay above the chaos they create from fear and raw emotion. The enemy is here! The elite thinking that would use fear, greed, gender or race to distract and divide America is violating the law and the Constitution. We are being robbed blind afraid to look at the facts. In closing, it’s not about the Left or Right. It’s about Rich thieves robbing America’s Public Trust and the rich ruling class not listening. Go Tea Party. Harvard does not know Best and they don’t care about us.

What Does An Illegal Alien Look Like?

Posted on 29 April 2010 by Baco

This article will not be politically correct, but it is necessary to expose the hypocricy of the false argument offered by the Obama Administration and supporters. Can anyone actually tell us, “What Does An Illegal Look Like?” The racial element of this argument is a deliberate act designed to distract us from the seriousness of the situation. Immigration reform is a “National Security Issue.” If a bunch of Hispanics pulled off a 9-11, we’d be profiling and a whole lot more.

I mean no disrespect to the Hispanic population. In no way am I implying that they would attempt anything so heinous as a 9-11. I used the heart-felt reference to neutralize the race card. How many good, peace-loving, Muslims are being profiled due to the unthinkable acts of a few? Using the 9-11 reference cut directly to the argument of “National Security.” If we feared the Hispanic population or hated them blindly as we do Muslims, then America would be demanding racial profiling just as we do Muslims in airports, at work, and at play. If we take it one step further, we racially profile Blacks too. Where is the outrage when someone is legally shot or beaten to death at the hands of a police officer? Hispanics are little or no threat to us and abusing them is profitable and ignored.

What does an “Illegal” look like? We can’t get past the racial element because the proximity of our border to Hispanic nations can’t be avoided. There is a profile we can use beyond race. Does the individual have a driver’s license? Do they have any banking records, educational records, or a rental and or work history? The profile of an “Illegal” is the same as a terrorist because they both present as “Ghosts.” The difference is one is not viewed as a threat to national security whereas the other is racially profiled and discriminated against at will because we fear what a few of them did.

In short, “This is a National Security Issue Stupid.” Who can dictate what we should and should not fear? The larger question is “Will we uphold the law?” How can we hypocritically argue that all Muslims should be profiled and no Hispanic should be questioned? We are blindly following the Israeli security model to what end? After all the political games have been played along with the race and religion card by all sides; we must return to sanity as we support and defend the Constitution. Bluntly stated, “We are either a nation of laws or one in chaos saying, “Yes We Can” break them whenever we desire or for political gain.” I argue, America is still a nation of laws- before and after 9-11. Open your eyes and see the truth.

Sue Who?

Posted on 17 April 2010 by Baco

The Las Vegas Review Journal isn’t very unbiased when it comes to Senator Harry Reid. The Publisher, Sherman Fredricks, has challenged Senator Reid publicly on many occasions. Sherman has also considered running for office to show his contempt. Do you think the RJ will be unbiased as the Senate Majority Leader is up for re-election? Heck no! The RJ is hyping and talking up “Sue Who?” Every poll published has Harry trailing Sue Lowden by 10 points or more. Sue Lowden hasn’t won a primary? What’s up with that? Who is the RJ actually polling?

Senate Majority Leader Reid has delivered the “Bacon” for Nevada. He made the difference in getting City Center finished. He led the effort to stop Nevada from being America’s Nuclear anus. He sits at the pinnicle of power and just the thought of dumping Harry makes Nevada the “Laughing Stock” of America. South Carolina’s AWOL Governor is giggling at the stupidity of the GOP. Fire Harry? Fire him for what? He has “Fought For Us.” This would be political malpractice, but is Nevada that stupid? Would we dismiss someone with a known track record for “Sue Who?” Heck no!

Senator Reid is proving himself to be a great leader for the entire Silver State. He is cleaverly inviting the opposition to visit this state often and encouraging all to spend money and enjoy our hotels and entertainment. That’s good for Nevada. If Harry were reported to be leading by “Double Digits” would the GOP dump millions into a lost cause? Heck no. I say, “Way to Go Harry!” Let the opposition invite the nationwide GOP effort into Nevada. Place the burden squarely on the backs of Nevada voters and the Democratic Party. Don’t expect a biased media to tell the truth about your outstanding record. Don’t expect Sherman Fredricks to do what’s in Nevada’s best interest when he clearly cares more about his own. Don’t expect the polls to be fair. Run on your record and the “Scary Reid Campaign” will go down in history as a largest political flop ever. It will be bigger than Governor Howard Dean for President after the scream. Some here in Nevada and the GOP will scream. I say, “Sue Who?” Last time I checked, Nevada was a “Blue State.”

Double Standard?

Double Standard?

By Bacodebus

How much should it cost me to say the word “_igger?” Should I be censored or charged by the minute, week, hour or day?
Who should determine how much those crying victims be compensated? If a Black comic says the “N-word” how much do we pay…Them?

America, I think we have a “Double-Standard.” Wanna talk about it? Keep it real, but talk about it in code in Back of the Bus with me? I think we agree, but we just can’t say it in public. Censorship isn’t the solution to incivility. Education is the answer. Why are you mad enough to resort to using that word?

Reconciliation and The Other R Words

Posted on 17 March 2010 by Baco

Reconciliation is a process where the majority rules. The strong is legally permitted to have their way with a weaker, not so silent minority. What we are hearing are the tears and the cry of the victims in a process that should never be tolerated or improperly justified because “They did it to us.” Shame on us and shame on anyone calling for reconciliation like it’s the right thing to do. These crimes of which I dare not speak are vicious violations due to frustration and entitlement. I’m speaking in general about a four letter R-word that if I said it, would make us all cry, “Foul.” We should be crying in agreement about “Reconciliation” too.

From the position of power, it feels good to impose one’s will over a powerless victim or in this case the GOP Minority. Again, shame on Congress and the Democrats using their political frustrations like a phallus. Mark my word, they can do it at their own peril because the event will never fade from this generation’s history. Democrats will be out of power because they abused power and forced their will on us all. Process matters because this is against the will of America. We agree that access to healthcare is needed, but how it is granted matters. Sex is a vital to life, but it is always a crime where two consenting adults have not willfully submitted. This is how I see “Reconciliation.” It can happen, but why?

In short, I’ve made several arguments against this process because I think we agree access to healthcare should be a priority for a nation endlessly at war. On 9-11, we stood paralyzed together, but we didn’t think about who would die needlessly from a lack of access. As Democrats were attacked by the Anthrax, again we didn’t think about the ramifications. As we deal with tainted food and pet product scares, we should all be crying for universal access. We can agree about the goal, but we are in disagreement about the process. We can’t find the courage to help Congress understand this crime because we are dealing with a personality who thinks he is entitled. Didn’t Tiger Woods think he was entitled until his reality crashed and burned? Is “Reconciliation” President Obama and the Democratic Party’s reality check? The process is wrong without consent. Maybe America needs to metaphorically grab a nine iron for reconciliation’s reality to set in? Nobody voted for this.

Bayh’s Bombshell Backfires?

Posted on 16 February 2010 by Baco

Today is a sad day for Democrats because it marks just how far the Party has fallen since the historic election of President Obama. We won based on the battle cry, “We Can.” We haven’t done anything, won anything, and Democrats are handing victories to the GOP. Is surrender ever the answer? No! I think Sen. Bayh’s action is a necessary, health, and cleansing process for our politics. It’s just as predictable as rats jumping off a sinking ship. There will be plenty more as this ship sinks faster than the “Titanic.”

God Bless Bayh and whatever political future he thinks he has in either party. This may be what’s best for his career, but in times of tremendous challenge may the best “Team” win. Sen. Bayh is proving that he is not a “Team Player” and it appears that he is taking his marbles and going home-frustrated. This is so childish! America doesn’t know where he stands. What’s sad is I believe he was often mentioned in the official discussion to be Sen. Clinton’s first choice for Vice-President? Does someone with this stature and clout turn on and turn in their Democratic credentials one day before the decision to run must be made? Hell no! Where was this man’s loyalty? He’s helping the GOP! It looks as if he made a point to snub Sen. Majority Leader Harry Reid. Do Bayh’s actions speak louder than his words?

Clearly, I have my reservations about what is happening to the Democrats post Obama’s win, but surrender- is never the answer. Democrats have never had more power to accomplish the people’s business in Congress. What actions of them do we see? Compromise, surrender, lip service and confusion at every level inside the DNC and Democratic leadership. Sen. Bayh’s actions actually are helping to end the bi-partisan bickering through surrender. That’s a bombshell that will only blow up in Bayh’s face. He is now forever exposed as a “Loser.” Real executives don’t quit when the going gets tough.

In short, I wish Sen. Bayh success in whatever he chooses to accomplish in politics and life, but his political life has basically ended on a national scale. He has fallen on his own sword and that’s unacceptable. I would suggest that he be a man and step down immediately? Let Indiana determine their future? This guy was considered qualified to serve one heart beat away from the White House? In this political stunt, he appears to be less qualified than Sarah Palin and or John Edwards. The Edwards selection had a purpose. Who could Democrats count on to spend 8 long years in the bunker? Edwards may have suffered a case of “Cabin Fever” but Sen. Evan Bayh blew his chances betting on a moderate approach to politics. Surrender is never acceptable at war or in the ugly hidden political battles necessary to determine the policies that govern how we fight one.

This is America! We can disagree, but we cannot permit “Mushy Moderates” or their worthless policies and polls to discard the Constitution. I hope someday you all agree. The GOP agenda is wrong arguing to discard what has made us uniquely American. The Constitution has kept us strong for so many years and we cannot waiver in fear. I say, “Go VP Joe Biden!” Stand strong and permit the rats jump ship and drown. We are Americans all. The Constitution shall endure this test of time or until the Democrats can get it right. Bye-Bye Sen. Bayh, but go quickly?

My Reservations For The Tea Party

Posted on 12 February 2010 by Baco

Stop the bandwagon, I want to get off. I was ready to pledge my loyalty and Earthly possessions to the Tea Party, but then Sarah Palin walked in. She walked in with a cheat sheet on her hand. What do you think I am-stupid? It looks like the Tea Party is nothing more than former Republicans stirring up political trouble under a new flag. I think this is exactly why the main stream media is trying so hard to ignore them. It’s the same old, same old, message just not shared by Rush Limbaugh.

What’s the message? The Tea Party and the GOP are saying, “I hope he fails.” Basically, another wing of the GOP has formed fueled by the same hatred and venom. A rose by any other name still smells like fertilizer when you get past the “Folksy Talk” and the “Fancy Pageant Walking.” I’m disgusted by the Tea Party because when you stoop to Palin’s level, you stand for nothing. Why not take John Edwards as your message of hope and change?

Making an Edwards reference shows you the level of distaste I have for the Tea Party because Edwards is toxic. I supported the man in 2004 and in 2008. I supported the Tea Party too, but there comes a time when enough is enough! I’m fed up with the anger for the sake of anger shared by just another pretty face. Be angry, but offer something positive to fix the problems? Edwards was a vehicle that permitted “Poor People” to participate in the Democratic debate. What debate is the Tea Party or Sarah Palin having? It’s all about hate with a smile.

In short, I love the fact that there is an anger in America directed at both political parties and the status quo. I’m furious at the fact that the anger is turning into a blind rage. Beautiful people can get on television in a heartbeat, but what if anger is all they offer? I know the power of anger and it’s ability to “Change” politics. Sometimes anger can be a “Childish Thing.” The GOP is no stranger to anger. They didn’t unleash their anger when the Constitution was being shattered by former President Bush and VP Dick Cheney. The collective anger at them was good. What’s up with that “Do you miss me now?” I loved the Constitutional reply. That’s “Real Tea Party” and patriotic stuff. Sadly, what this Tea Party is serving is stale koolaid from a Caribou Barbie. We’ve been there and done that with Edwards. Anger can only take you so far. Do something with that anger for America like pass real healthcare reform?

Perfect World

Posted on 11 February 2010 by virgil

The perfect world. The perfect society. Many have tried and failed to produce a society with equity and equality. In New Zealand we are lucky not to have poverty. Some would argue against this and say we do, but when I look around, poverty in NZ can be considered as; to live in a state house with a second hand car. This is not poverty. Around the world millions would die for our poverty and are shocked at our attitude towards it. In our education everyone is given equal opportunities. There’s no escaping this fact because schools are compulsory until the age of sixteen. The main factors that would stop this is, 1. Choice. If your found in the gutter it’s because you chose to be there. Because you chose not go to school, or chose to take up drugs. Which leads to the second: 2. Health. If your sick then you can’t work. However this is eliminated by the fact that NZ’s health system would look after you. 3. Home life. If you have a father that abuses you, or live in a dysfunctional home to the point that you can’t study, then it’s not your choice but your circumstance. In reality I can not think of a solution for this because you can’t rule how a family works, unless it was a nanny state.

But this is not an article about the issues of poverty but a philosophical idea on the solution. When I think of the perfect society, I don’t think of America, or Rome or the Assyrians. I think back even further to what’s shown in Genesis called the Tower of Babel. Here was a world that spoke the same language, that worked together, and would have, if they hadn’t been stopped, overtaken what’s taken us humans today thousands of years to understand and achieve. They could have been kicking into their industrial revolution in that era. Even God said, “…Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do; and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.” (Gen. 11) Can you imagine that? Nothing would be impossible. Science fiction would become science fact.

So what is it that they had that we don’t. First, they spoke the same language. Through out history culture differences and language barriers have deterred us from advancing in knowledge and technology. Second; unity and peace. There were no wars. There were no guns or tanks. Why? Because there was no need for them. Who were they going to fight? I’m making some assumptions here but doing it for the purpose of the principles that can be found in this scripture.

So what would it look like if every country on Earth put aside their military and eliminated all weapons of mass destruction. I for one would feel safer. Is this notion possible?

What would it look like if there were no boarders, no countries. Just humans and earth.

This is what it would look like: There would be no boarders, no currency, no money. This is because we are all working together. Everyone is assigned to their gifting, whether it be painting or building. If your passion is entertainment, then entertain. If it’s farming then you would farm for the world. If it’s science, we move forward with the benefits of new technology and enjoy the new finds of science.

This world is possible but there are three things that stop it, greed, jealousy and selfishness. The greed of power. The envy of one’s neighbor, and the selfishness of man.

I thought communism was a great idea, until I realized those three things would stop it from ever truly working. So is there any good that can come out of this? Is there any benefits we can use in our own societies? There is. That is generosity.

Imagine a world without generosity or sharing. We would lack those emotional bonds to enjoy real happiness. This is not limited to the material world but compliments, smiles and nods are a gift to those around us.

Generosity builds happiness. It answers so many of the issues I have talked about earlier. What’s the opposite of greed? Generosity. What’s the opposite of selfishness? Sharing. We can’t unite all countries or have one language like that of Babel, but we can be generous. An individual act we can do right now.
